During the 2nd World War, 3 British soldiers were lost in the Sahara Desert?
They were an Englishman, a Scot, and an Irishman. As they struggled back to their camp they were discussing how they would like to be buried if the worst came to the worst. They all agreed on the following :- To be buried face down in the sand so the circling vultures would not peck out their eyes,as they wanted to see their loved ones in heaven. The first one to die was the Scotsman, and true to their word , he was buried face down in the sand. After a short while the English soldier succumbed to exhaustion and was buried as before. It suddenly dawned on the remaining soldier that there was nobody to bury HIM face down. As he struggled onwards he collapsed to his knees, and with his last strength he scooped out enough sand and stuck his head in the hole. At that moment, a passing Nomad saw him kneeling ,and rode his camel over, dismounted , and ‘mounted’ the soldier. To which there was a muffled yell of ‘You can peck all you want, you b******s you aint ‘avin me eyes’!!!!

lol, posting again. PLEASE answer?
one last time. <3 i’m hope i’m gonna talk to him tomorrow. pleaaassseee tell me what you think. again. xD
okay, monday was my first day of new school, and there’s this guy in my english class that i’m interested in. he’s new too. he comes from another city in ontario, so ya. idk if he’s got friends. i don’t have any friends, by the way. i’m always aloneee and stuff, but ANYWAYS. so yeah, i really wanna get to know him, ’cause like we’re pretty much the same. he sits next to me, like at the BACK of the class, and like his style is similar to mine (emo/punk/goth). but but but idk if he’s gay or like bi. but yahhh, i want to be friends with him. we’re both new and like yeah. :[ i’m not the type of person to say "heyyy, how are youu?" i’m a very shy, meek person. like i’m always quiet&stuff. so… should i give him time to talk to me? or like should i… like… *trip* next to him to start a convo? LOL :S
also, friday, he had a bottle of coke on his desk. i had a water bottle. so we were drinking at the same time, etc. so i was like "omggg, he’s sooo cute." so i decided to throw out my water bottle to have a look at him. (: i did. a few minutes later, he did the EXACT same thing. he put his bottle in the garbage. maybe it meant something, maybe it didn’t. it’s pretty interestingggg.
SO, what should i do. : D ?
ooo btw, we’re both in 10th gradeee. i’m 15 and… he’s… LMFAOA idk. like 15 or like 16.
thanks again! i loveee yooouuu. x

Who thinks Jason Kidd is better than Steve Nash?
Before answering read my argument.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Steve Nash and he’s one of my favorite players but I don’t understand why people think he has ever been better than Jason Kidd. The only thing Steve Nash is better at is shooting. Jason Kidd is a better defender(9 time all-defense compared to none by Nash). He’s a better rebounder(averaging 6.7 reb throughout his career compared to 3.0 for Nash).
And not to mention leading the Nets to the finals with less talent than Nash has had over his career. Steve Nash has played with Dirk Nowitzki, Antawn Jamison, Antoine Walker, Michael Finley, Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Joe Johnson who all have like 30-something all-star appearances between them. Yes Steve Nash has two MVPs but keep in mind he put up those great numbers in a high octane offensive system where the Suns averaged more possessions per game than any other team in the league, so his stats are a inflated. I think you could put any of the great point guards in the league like Deron Williams or Chris Paul in that system and they would put up better numbers than Nash.
Tell me what you think.
Right now,Steve Nash is better
But in terms of career and prime Jason Kidd all day long.I mean Jason Kidd is Top 3/5 PG of all time duo to skills, fantastic all around game and defense.I mean,i take Kidd all day long.Jason is one of the greatest passers to play the game, his court vision is close to Nash’s or even better.Kidd is the best rebounding PG because of his position under the rim and pure skills, plus he’s one of the best defenders for his position because of footwork,IQ,ability to play pressure defense and get steals etc.In terms of scoring Kidd hasn’t been a threat in his career and even now because of defense and passing.Yes,in terms of career and prime i take Kidd and it;s not even close.Plus he;s better leader, plus is one of the best triple double players in the NBA
To me when Kidd retires will be the 3rd best PG after Magic(#1) and Big O(#1)
Darko(#1 Blazers Fan) | Feb 05, 2010
In his prime i think Kidd was better than Nash but as of right now Nash is just playing too good especially for his age and is better than kidd. Right now Kidd isnt as good defensively as he used to be (but he is better than nash.) He also isnt much of a scoring threat at all. Nash isnt a top scorer but he puts up around 15-20 points per game and is one of the best shooters in the league while Kidd right now is just kinda a role player. He is still an exceptional passer and in all honesty its hard to say that nash is better than him at passing but IMO he is a big better right now
But as i said in their prime Kidd was better.

What is the best aria for baritone voice?
Preferably an opera aria, but a concert piece / lieder would be nice also. Please categorize the aria whether it’s a coloratura baritone piece or a lyric piece. They say the best baritone arias are Largo al factotum & Chanson Toreador, but I’d like to see more of the repertoire.
Well, for now I have a dramatic baritone voice, so I wouldn’t be singing "Largo" in the near future, but who knows? My teacher said I’m still (too) young so my voice certainly still has a potential to develop to "either end of the spectrum", whatever that means.
Maybe a Puccini aria or two would do the job: I’m quite intrigued by Tosca’s Scarpia. Any ideas? And please, *refrain* thyself from any Wagner part. My teacher forbade me to sing any Wagner until I have at least two children. Not that I want to be tempted…
There’s quite a list! Depends what sort of baritone voice you have as to which will suit you - snide76258 is right about ‘Largo al factotum’ being high, and the Toreador’s song often catches baritones out by lying a bit low in the verses.
Here’s some of my personal favourites for baritone, you’ll have to see what you think yourself:
- Gounod: Avant de quitter ces lieux (’Faust’) - lyric
- Tchaikovsky: Yeletsky’s aria (’The Queen of Spades’) - lyric
- Giordano: Nemico della patria (’Andrea Chenier’) - dramatic
- Korngold: Mein sehnen, mein wahnen (’Die Tote Stadt’) - lyric
Any of the Mozart baritone repertoire is great too, and it’s also worth checking out ‘coloratura’ roles in Donizetti + Rossini operas - too many to mention…
Oratorio:
- Mendelssohn: It is enough (’Elijah’)
- Mendelssohn: Is not His word like a fire? (’Elijah’ again)
- Handel: See the raging flames (’Joshua’)
And for songs, here are some that I think sound gorgeous sung by the baritone voice:
- Debussy: Trois ballades de Francois Villon
- Butterworth: songs from ‘A Shropshire Lad’
- Vaughan Williams: ‘Songs of Travel’
- Schubert: Erlkonig
O dear, I started this list, but wouldn’t know where to stop! There is so much great repertoire for baritones, always wished I could be one…! Have fun with it all

The one which first came to mind was "Il Provinzia, il mar, il suol" from "La Traviata."
suhwahaksaeng | Jun 15, 2008
Largo al Factotum was always very successful for me, but it is extremely high and very difficult.
What is your level? You might want to start with something like "Deh Vieni alla Finestra" from Don Giovanni or "Bella Siccome un Angelo" from Don Pasquale. Both great arias, but not as difficult vocally.

Does the Transamerica Pyramid have an observation deck?
I’d like to view the city from this building. I’m not sure if it’s open to the public.
Nope.
I used to work as a motor courier in San Francisco, and have been to the top of every major building in The City.
That one is the toughest.
The floors are very small near the top.

It’s a high security/ high rent building with a very security minded high technology tenant. The guard in the lobby won’t even allow photos of the entry gate area inside the building near his desk. He told me about a year ago that there was a coffee shop (behind the building???) where images of or from the building or shown on a television screen. Disappointed, we didn’t bother.

Huell Howser did a show on California Gold where he filmed a visit up to the top of the Transamerica Pyramid which I saw over a year ago.
I think that this shows a little more of it. Otherwise, you’d need to purchase the recording.

Looking for an old computer adventure game for kids?
from what I remember this game consisted of a bunch of little purple people and was sort of like lemmings.
i only vaguely remember two levels
the first i remember is you have your group on one side of a canyon and you need to cross a bridge to get to the other side. you can pick one of two bridges and if you get it wrong you somehow fall off and lose a character
the next level i remember is you come upon this angry little thing and he wants you to make a pizza for him so you have to select the right toppings or you fail
there was also a cave level that im not sure about?
if anyone can name this game i would greatly honor you!
thanks!!!

Why are the GMA's so shocked that Adam Lambert kissed another guy?
Isn’t this society’s contradiction? Ok, gay marriage but don’t kiss in public? What are people really expecting when they say they are for gay marriage? I’m a little confused. If we are having to have gay marriage beat into us, really people what do you think is going to happen. Men will be hugging other men and kissing in public, in front of you, your children and even your mother in law. So, why is okay to bad mouth Miss Former America for standing up for her Christian beliefs and not Adam Lambert for doing what is natural to him.
he did more than kissing. and he is obnoxious. He doesn’t care.
Viva D | Nov 24, 2009
I like Adam Lambert and I like gay people, but I don’t think him kissing his male keyboard player on TV was necessary. When I saw that my first thought was "Did you really have to do that?" We know he’s gay, duh. We don’t need to see it like that. I don’t make out with my boyfriend in public. PDA makes a lot of people uncomfortable. I don’t want to see two teenagers (a boy and a girl) make out at the mall any more than I want to see two guys make out.
Nancy U | Nov 24, 2009
@ Viva D, WHY SHOULD HE CARE?
He said it himself that he’s not for everyone and he knows that. Some people loved that performance and others detested it. You can’t please everyone.
Adam Lambert IS over the top. That’s who he is. He did what he wanted to do; shock people and get people talking. I did like his performance. It WAS raunchy, but once again, THAT’S WHO HE IS and I totally respect him for sticking to his guns and doing what he felt was necessary to do.
I Am The Walrus | Nov 24, 2009
Why is everyone fussing over the kiss? That was the least shocking and disgusting part of the whole performance.
Arggg | Nov 24, 2009
First of all, I have read article after article about the performance and people aren’t talking about the kiss. They’re flipping out over other aspects of the performance.
The kiss was unnecessary, though. I have absolutely no problem seeing gay people kiss. I have no problem seeing a person kissing a monkey. Whatever floats your boat. However, if you’re going to kiss someone, you should do it out of a feeling of love and caring for that person. Adam Lambert did it for shock value. He knew he would get lots of attention for it. Furthermore, he did it with a guy just to garner attention. We all know no one would have cared if he’d kissed a woman (who was standing next to him), so he did it with a guy and Adam knew that, too. There were women around, but no, he chose a man. Besides all that, just randomly kissing someone in the middle of a performance is just dumb. Why would it be entertaining?
So, basically, it isn’t, "Don’t kiss a man." It’s, "Don’t kiss a man just for the shock value of it; kiss a man because you love him."
Slightly off topic, but directed towards previous answerers of the question:
If Adam Lambert is so great, why would he need to do sexual things, which are clearly not innovative, to "get people talking?" Couldn’t he just be really talented and get people talking? People talked about Lady GaGa’s performance. Granted, it was slightly weird, but it she displayed the talent she was there to display: musical talent. As someone who never watched an episode of American Idol, after watching Adam’s performance, I truly have to wonder if he is at all musically talented. He sure didn’t show it the other night.
