Worst rock band of all time?
I’m reading a list right now of the top 50 worst bands of all time, and it has some things like The Doors, Iron Butterfly, and Mick Jagger on there, which I think if funny since I was reading a list the other day which you might be familiar with, it was called "VH1’s Top 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs" and I believe Iron Butterfly and The Doors were on that list.
My point is, what do you think the worst band of all time is? And try to stay away from the obvious Jonas Brothers & Miley Cyrus type thing, because we all know that.

just got a lcd flat screen 32 inch tv and ive been told my electric is gona be much more now i dont use my bulky tv, is this true???????
No. The old bulky and heavy CRT TV’s use a lot more power than LCD’s do.
Kev ~ Not very helpful. | Nov 26, 2009
No.
This is a ludicrous myth, invented by people who think that anything new, must be bad.
A modern 32" LCD television uses about 50% LESS electricity than a similar sized CRT (tube) TV.

Doesn't Turkey's denial of the Armenian Genocide make it more apparent that they did it?
Turkey has been hectically denying the Genocide for years now, and some Turks have even accused Armenians of killing Muslim Turks, which makes no sense, because the Ottoman empire was controlled by Turks, so they could have put a stop to that quickly.
Also, what’s sickening is that most of the Jews in Israel wants to stand up for the Armenians , and recognize the Armenian Genocide, but Turkey say’s it will harm or even end links with Israel if it does so, which really sucks for Israel, being surrounded by people who hate them.
Plus, if the U.S. recognizes it, Turkey will cut of ties with the U.S. and Israel.
So Israel is pretty f****d
I think it sick.
What do you think?
And before you Turks start getting mad,
I’m not Armenian, actually I’m Irish/German
even though I’m learning how to speak Armenian
are you still listening to pluck?
A Terrorist | Nov 24, 2009
As an Armenian, I think this topic is definitely a heavy topic for Turkey to deal with. As a secular nation, Turkey has tried very hard in the past half a century to improve it’s standings as a modernized and westernized nation. The denial is unfortunate, definitely something that they are not proud of. I think it is absurd that they are threatening to cut off diplomatic ties for other nations doing the right thing. However, this is sadly not the only current denial of genocide, which definitely shows the darker side of humanity.
Sonia | Nov 24, 2009
There was no "Armenian genocide".
Lots of dead Armenians who fought a losing rebellion against the land that had taken them in during their hour of need does not equal "genocide".
The myth was invented long ago but has been promoted in recent decades to rationalize Armenia’s genocide and ethnic cleansing against Nagorno-Karabakh in the 1990s and 2000s.
Why don’t we ever hear about THAT?
bloggersvilleusa | Nov 24, 2009
A lot of Armenians then were being driven out of Turkey, and that certainly caused a lot of death. But whether it’s a planned Genocide is still debatable.
You have to understand the major European powers were trying to stir up incidents so that they could be in a better position to eat up the dying Ottoman empire. There was surely a lot of political agenda behind. Armenians had been living in peace in Turkey for many centuries, there must be a reason why all of a sudden Turkey need to drive them away.
To understand history we have to be neutral, and to see things from multiple perspectives. Matters were usually more complicated than the simple black and white, good vs evil scenario.
JC | Nov 24, 2009
To its everlasting shame, Turkey has not admitted to its crime and moved on as has Germany. More and more historians are realizing Turkey’s guilt and this will not go away. You seem to be correct in your question and supporting statements.
Warren S | Nov 24, 2009
You won’t get any argument from me against your idea.
As for those anawerers claiming the Armenian Genocide is a myth, or that the killings don’t count as genocide because that’s not how it was planned, you’re wrong.
There is a plethora of official state documentary and photographic primary source evidence detailing both the policy and its perpetration.
German diplomatic corps Stare Archives also contain several dispatches from the German Consulate and ambassador in Turkey during WW, mentioning the Armenian Genocide and confirming that it was State policy initiated at the highest level (I know,I’ve read them).
Turkey likes to paint the Christian West as the Demon that won’t let Turkey into the EU because it’s a Muslim country; the real reason is their continued insistence on denial of the Armenian Holocaust, and persecution of anyone who dares say different.
ammianus | Nov 24, 2009
false logic.
but it has nothing to do with Israel who have a program of genocide for the Palestinians.
The aim of the jews is to occupy all the territory from the Nile to the Euphrates and have a racially pure jewish state
brainstorm | Nov 24, 2009
No, Turkey’s denial just means that Turkey is denying it - could be because they didn’t do it, or because it’s a lie. We can’t know just from the fact that they deny it.

Why do Democrats think that the Republican Party is dieing?
Have you guys ever seen the election of 1984.
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:E lectoralCollege1984.svg
Shurlly if the Democratic party didn’t die then, then I am 100% positive the Republican party will not die now.
This one is even worse.
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:E lectoralCollege1972.svg
Anyway do you really think a party will die that easily? Sorry to inform you of this, but even Democrats will hate Obama before he gets out of office. Look what you did to Bush even Republicans hated him, we will do the same to Obama sadly politics is silly. By the way I don’t hate Obama he is pretty cool. He has become slightly more Republican than when he was running. I also watched his speech in Asia, and thought it was almost perfect. To bad everybody will hate him soon. Already half the country does. Bunch of haters right?

because it is
it is being torn in two between right-wing fundamentalists like Sarah Palin and moderate republicans (rinos).
rino’s and conservative "independents" are leaving the party because it is moving too far to the right
the 1984 election can be explained by a few things:
1. Pres. candidates that were former losing VP candidates have historically fared poorly. They have never won the presidency.
2. The economy briefly rebounded in ‘83-’84. Although the phrase wasn’t coined until the 90’s, it would be just as apt to say about the election in ‘84, "it’s the economy, stupid."
3. For some unknown reason, many Americans found Reagan to be a charismatic persona. Mondale in contrast was rather boring.
4. Geraldine Ferraro, was Mondale’s VP candidate. She was the first woman to be a VP or Pres. candidate for either of the major parties.

I dont think that, I think they already died by becoming liberals by and large, what is going to happen, is that republicans will have a rising up when the masses realize that socialism is not the answer to our nations problems.

It has been going downhill for years. Why do only 21% of American admit they are republican anymore? It also doesn’t help when the far right loons keep labeling moderates RINOs threatening them with trying to get "real" conservatives into their seats in the house and senate!
honestamerican | Nov 20, 2009
Many Democrats, but not just Democrats, those around the world think the Republican party is dying because of the ideological shift in to the far-right. The Republican Party can’t survive as long as the Neoconservatives and Evangelicals dominant the Republican leadership. They don’t represent the majority of conservatives. Many don’t agree with the GOP, but many don’t agree with the Democrats either, so you have this huge influx of people calling themselves independents. Many of them are Conservatives that feel alienated by the Republican Party.
There are two scenarios.
1) The Republican party reforms back towards a more moderate ideology
2) The Republican party dies and is replaced by another Conservative Party
Satellite | Nov 20, 2009
Third parties and independents are gaining support from former members of both parties, and party members tired of both at never before seen rates. With Republicans getting tired of the GOP moving more to the left (in terms of government control),and the Democrats getting tired of their party not sticking to it’s roots (well this can be said for both) they will both lose influence over time if not reformed.

Yes - certainly - republican voter fraud SHALL rise again! Incompetence, stupidity, lies, treason and murder will once again enter the White House - Li’l Bush SHALL not have started those useless wars in vain!!!
The republicans will rise again - with Bimbo Palin at the helm!!! Next Stop - Disaster!
Morpheus | Nov 20, 2009
It is wishful thinking on their part. They know they are falling down a slippery slope and hope the Republicans are not getting on the hill. I do not hate Obama, but his policies are not sitting well with the majority of this country.
The good will survive, and will be making a huge comeback! Watch out for the Independents and conservatives, no matter what party they may or may not belong to.
Obama is already history!
MR
Moody Red, American Patriot | Nov 20, 2009
I’m not a Democrat, but see the writing on the wall for the GOP.
-They have NO House of Representative members in New England and GOP Senators in New England are becoming scarce.
-Moderates are being shut out of the party.
-Far right wing ideologues are embraced by the party leaders: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, etc.
-They have no strong party leader. Michael Steele is a token black man who has already had to kiss party leader Limbaugh’s @ss, to save face.
-And they have no candidate in 2012 at this point, that can win a national election (eg: Presidency).
-Even the Tea Party movement is fracturing and breaking up over right-wing ideology and political atheism (which was the founding idea behind the movement).
At this point, Obama could rape and murder a woman at a press conference and still win re-election without spending a dime campaigning.
The GOP isn’t dead, but is definitely on life support.
caldude1010101 | Nov 20, 2009
Nobody has claimed that but it is nonetheless, pretty pathetic wouldn’t you agree at this moment.
Shazam | Nov 20, 2009
The reason is the long term trends. It’s not just Democrats, it’s Republicans that are most worried about it. Check the analysis of the Conservative National Journal;
http://www.pollster.com/blogs/the_gop_fa ces_longterm_challen.php
In the 2008 election there was a huge drop in the number of people who described themselves as Republicans and a huge increase in Independents. This is very unusual, as most people stick with their party even when they don’t vote or cross party lines to vote for the other Pres. candidate. Also, young people were 66% for Obama (up from 54% for Kerry).
I’ve heard from other sources that the fastest growing demos - Latinos, for example, are also way more likely to vote for Democrats.
I also think that there are splits in the GOP that showed up in the candidates in 2008. The GOP has different factions within it, and I think the splits have gotten worse than in the Dems. The GOP has Christian Conservatives who vote on values issues, and then you have Wall Street guys and other big business who laugh if anyone mentions Jesus, they just want low taxes. Look at the GOP candidates - Romney couldn’t get the votes of Evangelicals because he was Mormon, Giuliani couldn’t attract social Conservatives, and Huckabee couldn’t get big business. The anti abortion folks must be wondering why we’ve had 5 of the last 7 administrations have been Republican but none of them has ever stopped or even strongly curtailed abortion. And you have Newt Gingrich saying Bush spent money like a Liberal Democrat.

How do I cook my Thanksgiving turkey?
I read to roast a turkey in the oven, cook at 325 degrees. My electric roasting pan cooks at 350 degrees. Which is best for a moist turkey. Do I leave it out an hour or so after it’s done before I serve it?
just boil it
Oscar | Nov 25, 2009
I use a Reynolds Cooking bag. The directions are on the outside of the box. The turkey will be moist, you won’t have a pan to wash. It can’t get any easier. Happy Thanksgiving! mm
Maestro's Mom | Nov 25, 2009
Make a giant turkey, maybe two. Be sure to have stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy-all the works. Also serve beans, carrots, potatoes, and any other Thanksgiving dishes. Make tons of food for all of them.
Turkey:Ingredients
1 (14 to 16 pound) frozen young turkey
For the brine:
1 cup kosher salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 gallon vegetable stock
1 tablespoon black peppercorns
1 1/2 teaspoons allspice berries
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped candied ginger
1 gallon heavily iced water
For the aromatics:
1 red apple, sliced
1/2 onion, sliced
1 cinnamon stick
1 cup water
4 sprigs rosemary
6 leaves sage
Canola oil
Directions
Click here to see how it’s done.
2 to 3 days before roasting:
Begin thawing the turkey in the refrigerator or in a cooler kept at 38 degrees F.
Combine the vegetable stock, salt, brown sugar, peppercorns, allspice berries, and candied ginger in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally to dissolve solids and bring to a boil. Then remove the brine from the heat, cool to room temperature, and refrigerate.
Early on the day or the night before you’d like to eat:
Combine the brine, water and ice in the 5-gallon bucket. Place the thawed turkey (with innards removed) breast side down in brine. If necessary, weigh down the bird to ensure it is fully immersed, cover, and refrigerate or set in cool area for 8 to 16 hours, turning the bird once half way through brining.
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F. Remove the bird from brine and rinse inside and out with cold water. Discard the brine.
Place the bird on roasting rack inside a half sheet pan and pat dry with paper towels.
Combine the apple, onion, cinnamon stick, and 1 cup of water in a microwave safe dish and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Add steeped aromatics to the turkey’s cavity along with the rosemary and sage. Tuck the wings underneath the bird and coat the skin liberally with canola oil.
Roast the turkey on lowest level of the oven at 500 degrees F for 30 minutes. Insert a probe thermometer into thickest part of the breast and reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F. Set the thermometer alarm (if available) to 161 degrees F. A 14 to 16 pound bird should require a total of 2 to 2 1/2 hours of roasting. Let the turkey rest, loosely covered with foil or a large mixing bowl for 15 minutes before carving.
Sara | Nov 25, 2009
I actually use Sara’s recipe - she didn’t credit it but it’s an Alton Brown recipe called Good Eats Roast Turkey. Works great.
I am not that familiar with the roasting pans, so I’m not sure which will be more moist. I do like brining, it makes the breast so much moister. But you only need to rest the bird for 30 minutes, max.

boyfriend living with rats! how can i make him move!? 22 yrs old?
ok…so my boyfriend really doesn’t embrace change at all. he’s just moved into an apartment with a guy he graduated high school with..and it hasn’t gone as planned. coming from a pretty ideal college living situation…this has affected him. the place he’s living is a dump…and in a really bad part of town. his "plan" has been to move out in december after finals…however he hasn’t done much work to look for a place…and he’d be moving in about a month. the dilemma here is most probably bc he wants to find another roomate…but it’s looking like he’ll have to get a place on his own. i think this is for the better bc he’s got a year left in college…and def. needs to take this gradual step to growing up. all of his best friends live in the same complex but each have their own one bedroom….that’s where he wants to be…so he says he’ll move in december. however, last night…i realized how dangerous his living situation really might be. not only is he living on a street with the highest crime rate in our city…..but the inside of his apartment…is infested with RATS. i’m not kidding…the biggest rats you’ve ever seen. he told me a couple weeks ago they’re dishwasher was eaten through by rats and water leaked everywhere. this was already after his roomate killed another rat a month before. anyway….last night i went to get some water from the kitchen….and movement by the dishwasher caught my eye. it blended in really well with the towels placed under the appliance due to leaking…but it was the biggest rat i’ve ever seen….most definitely about 4 lbs in size…with a long tail. it was crouched drinking water from under the towels. after letting my bf & his roomate know…they tried to kill it and missed…while it crawled into the dishwasher. after this they checked all the traps and found 2 dead mice. they were changing out the towels under the washer when i noticed blood was soaked through them….rat blood…mixed with poison. one had eaten a lot of it and apparently bled all over the towel and floor. i was completely disgusted with the thought of the diseases that could be in all that blood. it is so common for rats to carry diseases. anyway his roomate who is a complete slob laughed about it…while my bf looked a little nervous and suggested we go buy some water at the store so we wouldn’t have to drink the water here. his roomate let us know how stupid he thought that idea was…..anyway…i tried to get my boyfriend not to think about it so he could sleep that night and it seemed like his mind was at ease a little later. this morning we talked about it…and i let him know that i think it’d be a good decision to move as early as possible. he has nowhere else to stay during the week and can no longer keep food there. he doesn’t feel comfortable drinking the water…but has to bathe in it…which he says he dreads. however…he’s petrified to live on his own…and this discussion ends up in a fight. he’s been going through an extremely hard time right now that i won’t even go into…and i know this living situation is only making it worse. he’s fighting me every step of the way bc he’s scared of change…but i know this could only help him to be happy…and honestly i’m just worried about what might happen to him while he’s sleeping there. what should i do? i’m tired of being asked for advice and getting shot down about everything i say. he’s got some growing up to do and i think it’s time for him to face it….living on his own could definitely help…and he’d still be surrounded by friends…so it’d only be better than where he is. what to do!?
I read the whole thing because I would like to give you some kinda help.
First keep trying because it seems that he understands the problems and he doesn’t like his living situation either. But I would ask how come the 2 of you don’t get a place together to make it cheaper to live and such, and then instead of rooming with his friends he could room with you and not be living on his own and be lonely. Not a big answer but just something to think about. Good luck

Ask shorter questions and learn how to use punctuation and paragraphs, lol! Sorry, but I gave up reading this after about 4 lines.

Point Of Impact | Nov 17, 2009
You can not make someone do something that they are not ready to do "point blank".
What’s going to have to happen is things are going to have to get really really bad at the current apartment before your b/f decides that being alone is better then what he’s dealing with. By bad I mean someone being shot right outside their front door, or the apartment being robbed, or him becoming severely ill due to the rats.
He has to make the choice to move on his own, you can talk and talk talk all you want but until he’s ready to take that step its unlikely he’s going anywhere anytime soon.
(Have you thought of other room mates for him ones more suited)
Oh no u didn't | Nov 17, 2009
My gosh so long >.<. I read it though! =D Anyway I think you should explain to him either, he dreads about so much as having a bath and drinking water everyday and dieing from some disease, or grow up and move out for some change where he won’t have to be scared to drink some water, if he doesn’t want to, just leave there, and tell him it’s his own fault if something happens.
Maybe threaten you won’t around there anymore if he stays there, so he’ll be seeing less of you and he can stay there with his roomate in the infested appartment forever. =D
